When we were planning our east coast trip, we actually wanted to stay on Hamilton Island, but because of the holidays almost everything was fully booked. That’s why we decided to stay in Airlie Beach and to do several day trips instead. One of those day trips was a trip to Hamilton Island:
Hamilton Island
First of all: Hamilton Island is beautiful, but at the end we were happy, that we decided – well, that we had – to stay in Airlie Beach. Hamilton Island is a bit like one big holiday resort, what might be perfect for families, but to be honest, it’s not what we are looking for when traveling.
This isle offers a lot of activities, so you’ll never be bored: beaches, pools, water sports, GoKart and much more. We started at the Marina, walked to the Catseye Beach where we spend some hours, enjoyed lunch with a really nice view, drove to the One Tree Hill Lookout – that’s the place we took those pictures at – and ended up at Coral Cave after a really exhausting 1.4km walk aka climb. 🙂 You see, there is a lot you can do on Hamilton Island.
